The importance of music in your wedding order of service

Filed under: Wedding Order of Service — Diane @ 9:00 am

There’s no denying that there is a lot of preparation that goes into a wedding. From deciding on that dress, to arguing over the perfect venue, there is so much to do and never enough time to do it in.

One of the most important things to get into place at an early stage though is the wedding order of service, particularly if you are opting for a church wedding. This tells you, as well as the guests, exactly how the service is going to run. It gives the guests an idea of when they become involved in the ceremony with hymns or photographs and ensures that the entire thing runs smoothly.

But one of the most important aspects to consider when planning your wedding is the music. The music can completely transform your wedding and really set the tone and atmosphere for the whole day.

It may be that you already have the hymns you would like in mind. But if you are struggling for inspiration, then ask for copies of the hymn book from your minister. You may wish to opt for familiar hymns to make your guests more comfortable.

You may wish to use a choir to enhance the sound of the music during your ceremony. This will all need to be discussed when you are deciding on your wedding order of service.
