Should I send RSVP cards with my wedding and evening invitations?

Many couple send RSVP cards with their wedding invitations, but it’s not a necessity.  The advantages of sending them are that you are likely to receive a faster response rate to your wedding invitations and that you can also check additional information such as any dietary / special requirements your guests may have.

The only real downside to sending rsvp cards is the additional cost.  Sending RSVP cards to just your wedding and not your evening invitations is one way to keep your costs down.  Your day guests cost the most to cater for, and you may need to work out where they’re going to be sitting for your tableplan, so getting their responses is most crucial.
