Make your guests feel welcome

Filed under: Wedding Table Plan — Diane @ 2:09 pm

Whether you are having a traditional wedding or something a bit more alternative, you should aim to make your guests feel as much a part of your special day as possible.  There are several ways in which to do this, so here’s our little guide to helping both you and your guests have a hassle-free wedding day.

Send out your save the date cards and invitations in good time, giving everyone the chance the make plans to attend your wedding day.  Include detailed timings, maps, and options for accommodation and travel.  Include a gift list if you are having one, making sure that you include a note to say that purchasing a gift is optional.  You may want to ask for a donation to a charity of your choosing instead, or perhaps a contribution to your honeymoon or something that you need for your home.  Include an RSVP card to make it easy for your guests to reply – this will also encourage people to reply sooner as half the work is done for them!

Think about who you are inviting.  Consider your guest’s children and whether they will be included in the day.  Think about whether you wish to add a ‘plus-1′ to any single guest’s invitation.

Is is very useful to have wedding table plans as well as place cards at the reception venue so that people can clearly see where they are meant to be seated.  Have several wedding table plans dotted around – or even give them out with the order of service or hand them round during the photo shoot so people know in advance where they need to be.

Your Wedding Invitations

Filed under: Wedding Invitations, Wedding Invitations Articles — Jenny @ 1:52 pm

Many people forget that your wedding invitation is often the first time that your guests will be aware of your planned wedding.  So, you should start with a bang and send out wedding invitations which knock their socks off!  And, the theme and design that you choose for your wedding invitations, you can also have running through all of your other wedding stationery such as evening invites, thank you cards and photo albums.

Bearing this in mind, it’s vital that you take your time to choose your wedding invitations and find a design that you absolutely adore.  You should try to choose a style which reflects how you want your wedding day to be and include the things which are important you you both as a couple.  Incorporate favourite colours, animals, shapes and text to make your wedding invitations truly bespoke to you both.

If you are organised enough, it’s a really good idea if you can order all of your wedding stationery at the same time so that you can get matching designs across all of your stationery.  It is also advisable to order everything as soon as possible – earlier rather than later.

Depending on the type of wedding that you are planning, you may very well need several different types of wedding invitations.  You may need evening invites separately, or perhaps different invites for different people if you are planning on taking close friends and family abroad for a beach wedding and then having a reception back home (and not anywhere near a beach!)
