A new application has been unveiled for the iPhone and the iPod Touch… ‘The Peek-a-Boo Rattle’. This genius free application allows your phone or media player to be transformed into a rattle for your baby. It is sure to come in handy if you should ever find yourself without any toys to keep your offspring entertained.

The invention came about when the designer of the application discovered how fascinated his daughter was with his iPhone. The application allows the baby to play with the iPhone and learn at the same time.

The concept of the application is simple. Choose the animal that you wish. It will then be displayed as an image on the front of the device and when shaken it plays the noise that is made by the chosen animal. This will teach your children the names and sounds of animals as well as entertaining them and keeping their attention.

The only problem that arises is if your baby enjoys throwing their toys out of their pram. If this is the case then you should seriously consider handing over your expensive piece of equipment to your child, or at least purchase a protective skin for your device.
