Guidelines for Save the Date Cards

Filed under: Save The Date Cards — Alan @ 11:58 am

Save the date cards are a great way of setting the theme for your forthcoming wedding.  Your save the date cards are the first things connected to your wedding that your guests will see, so they are a great way of letting people know what kind of wedding you intend on having.  Save the date cards don’t have to be formal if you prefer something a little more relaxed, and you can really have some fun with them by choosing an unusual design.

It is vital to include the basic information on your save the date cards such as your names, the date of the wedding and the city or town where the ceremony will be taking place.  Also, be sure to include something to the effect of: ‘Invitation to follow’ so that this cards does not get mistaken for a wedding invitation.

You may choose to only send your save the date cards to close friends and family to start with, so that you can ensure the most important people to you can attend.  Also, if your wedding is abroad, it is a good idea to include details of the destination, flights and hotels to give everyone a chance to make arrangements in advance.
