Deciding on your wedding invite

Filed under: Wedding Invitations, Wedding Invitations Articles — Jenny @ 7:00 am

One of the notoriously difficult tasks when it comes to organising your big day is deciding who to and who not to invite. As all bride-to-be’s will know, the list could go on forever but when you start approaching the 100 mark, you have to stop at some point…, we do have a tendency to get carried away once we get started. Once you’ve ummed and arrhhed and finally come up with your guest list, the next task is writing the all important Invites.

This may sound like a time consuming but relatively simple task, but as I have found out as I have started to think about my own wedding, there are a lot of things to consider when it comes to your wedding invitation. Your Wedding Invite is the first taste your guests are going to have of your wedding; the style, the theme, the whole ambiance, so really you need to have a pretty good idea in your mind of what form you’re wedding is going to take on and whatever you decide there are so many different shapes, styles and ideas to choose from. Whatever the look is you are trying to create, the possibilities are endless.

As I have got into my 30yrs, I have received more and more wedding invitations as inevitably friends have had enough of the partying single life and want to settle down. I always love receiving a wedding invitation and start looking forward to the day. My most recent invite was to my brother’s wedding, he was marrying a Swedish girl so hence tying the knot in Sweden. Their invite was very pretty, in neutral, nature associated colours and informal, which suited their day down to a tee.

The next one is one of my close friends; we have whittled it down to a few options now but are still undecided; does she go for something girly like pretty pastels, something on trend and modern or even something more personal with a photo of her and her partner to be. I’m sure we’ll get there in the end.
