Planning your wedding – Part Two – the exciting bit

Filed under: Wedding Help & Advice — Jenny @ 9:00 am

The next stage of the wedding preparations can be a little tedious, but it’s got to be done. Because in month three, it’s time to book your suppliers.

But you are rewarded in month four with a very exciting task which is to choose your wedding dress. Take your time to look at the different styles available; after all, it is the most important dress you will ever buy, and then spend some time choosing the accessories and shoes to go with it. You can also make time to discuss ideas for the bridesmaids’ dresses in this month too.

Month five needs you to be really organised. Because this is the time that you need to start getting your wedding invites organised. Take a look at the huge range of wedding invites available and choose one which suits the style of your day. You can then start writing them using your guest list but ensure that you order extra copies for those inevitable mistakes.

Months six and seven are all about you; so go to your dress fittings, and start looking for hairdressers and make up artists for the big day.

Month eight is all about the men because this is when they need to get their suits fitted. Take fabric swatches, flowers and accessories with you, to help you choose the right colours and designs.

Planning your wedding – Part One – the early months

Filed under: Wedding Help & Advice — Diane @ 9:20 am

Twelve months might seem like a long time, but when you’re planning a wedding, it’s not long at all. There’s so much to organise and plenty of decisions to make and there’s no time to lose because it all begins now.
In the first month, you need to decide on the date of your wedding and you need to start considering the venues. You will need to book your venue early to ensure that you get the right date.

Around this time, you also need to start arranging your guest list – this will give you a rough idea of numbers which will help when booking suppliers. As well as a guest list, you will also need to decide on your budget too before you start booking anything.

In month two, you will need to start making the bigger decisions. This is where you will need to decide what style of wedding you would like. This will help you to make other decisions about things like the flowers, the cake, the wedding stationery and the food that you want for the big day.

It’s time to start getting an idea of suppliers in your area, and setting up meetings with them to get an idea of what’s available.
