Inviting the right guests to your wedding

Filed under: Wedding Help & Advice — Diane @ 3:41 pm

Save the date cards need to be sent out as early as possible. But knowing who to invite and who to leave off your wedding invitation list, is a really stressful task.

The aim is to have all your important friends and family members there but to not offend anyone who feels that they should have been invited. This is not as easy as it sounds.

You and your partner should set a day aside to sit down and create an organised list of people who you want to invite to your wedding. You should begin the list with your immediate family members and your close mutual friends.

Once you have these people listed, you need to break the remaining guests down into groups. For example, make a list of work colleagues, a list of children and a list of ex partners.

Once you start to get an idea of how many of these you feel you can invite, you will have a much clearer idea of how your wedding day will be.

The key to creating the perfect invitation list is by being fairly ruthless in the final stages. Always remember that this is your day and you shouldn’t feel like you need to invite people if you don’t want them there.

Once you have your perfect list of wedding guests, you can start sending out the save the date cards. Don’t forget to include the wedding RSVP cards though so you know who will be attending.

Don’t make a snap decision when it comes to your wedding photographer

Filed under: Wedding Help & Advice — Dave @ 3:40 pm

For months or even years, you will have been building yourself up to the big day. It’s an incredibly exciting occasion and one that you will want to remember for the rest of your life.

The way that a lot of couples keep their big day fresh in their minds is through the wedding photography and the videos. Most couples ensure that they have several wedding photo albums crammed full of beautiful pictures of the biggest day in their lives.

But in order to get the best possible photos, it’s important to choose the best possible photographer.

Before committing to one photographer, you need to check through their portfolio. Firstly, you need to see if you are happy with their style and secondly, you should point out to them any particular photos that you like.

It’s always a good idea to meet with your photographer before your wedding day too. Not only will this make you more comfortable when it comes to your wedding day, but it will also give you chance to discuss what you would like them to photograph on your wedding day.

By preparing your photography carefully, you are sure to end up with photographs in your wedding photo albums that you can treasure for years to come.
