What is a wedding order of service?

Filed under: Wedding Order of Service — Diane @ 9:00 am

When you are in the middle of organising your wedding, you will often find people talking about the wedding order of service. It’s just one of those things that you feel as though you ought to know what it is. But unless you have arranged a wedding before (and fingers crossed you haven’t) then, there is no reason why you would know what a wedding order of service is.

Basically, this document is a step by step guide as to how the wedding ceremony will run. It is designed to help your guests and particularly the ushers and bridesmaids, to know exactly what they are meant to be doing and when.

The wedding order of service will tell guests when all of the important moments are going to happen, so you can avoid that awkward moment when your mother in law tries to sneak to the toilet just as the vows are about to begin.

Your wedding order of service can be as detailed as you wish it to be and can even contain all the words of the vows. Or you can opt for a more basic wedding order of service.

Either way, you should simply see it as a guide to the ceremony and as a helpful document which will explain to guests exactly how the ceremony will run.

Sending out wedding thank you cards

Filed under: Wedding Thank You Cards — Dave @ 9:00 am

We’ve all been to those wedding receptions where an entire corner of the venue is marked off. Everyone wonders why this corner has been left free. Are the bride and groom going to be performing a special dance? Or is it just space for the live band?

And then, as guests drift in, it becomes apparent; the space is for the wedding gifts.

It’s amazing how generous people can be with wedding gifts. Some couples manage to furnish their entire homes with what they receive from their friends and family.

So it is incredibly important to stock up on wedding thank you cards before the big day. Even if you don’t ask for any gifts, you will want to thank your guests for coming and sharing your big day with you.

Wedding thank you cards can be bought to match the rest of your wedding stationery. This means that you can choose ones that tie in with your theme or preferred colour ensuring that the whole occasion remains organised and thoughtful.

You should send out the wedding thank you cards as soon after your wedding as you can. Make a list of everyone you want to send one out to and ensure that you don’t miss anyone out. After all, what would you do without that top of the range toaster, or dinner service that they got you?

Record those special times with your baby

Filed under: Baby Photo Albums — Jenny @ 9:00 am

Having a baby is such a special time. But those first few weeks can go in a complete blur. No sooner are you out of the hospital than you are caring for this tiny little life that is completely reliant on you.

There is nothing that can prepare you for the realities of having a baby. One minute, you are enjoying watching the soaps in peace snuggled up with your partner on the sofa and the next, you are up to your neck in nappies, dealing with a crying baby and trying to keep up with washing the baby grows.

But in amongst all of that, there are some incredibly special moments. The first time your baby comes home, their first bath, their first trip outside and of course their first smile, are all moments that you will want to remember forever.

And that is where baby photo albums come in. With the help of these baby photo albums, you can record every little moment of your baby’s first year in the world. And in a few years time, when those memories have faded, you will be so pleased to have a photo album to bring them back to life for you.
