Organising your wedding table plan

Filed under: Wedding Table Plan — Diane @ 9:00 am

Planning your table plan can be the most mind boggling task you have ever had to do. It may sound straight forward; after all, you are simply deciding where people will sit. But in reality, the task can become complicated when you discover that your great grandma isn’t a fan of your mate Dave from the pub.

The best way to go about planning your wedding table plan is by writing each guest’s name on a separate piece of paper but keep family groups all on one piece.

This means that you can move the names around easily and you don’t have to stick to your first decision. Start off by placing the people that have to sit together and then simply fill in the gaps.

It might be a good idea to place elderly friends and relatives in easily accessible places and children might be better placed nearer the toilets. Aside from that, there are no rules.

It is a good idea to avoid aerial view plans as this could cause problems if the venue layout changes. Stick to lists of names under each table name heading.

Planning your wedding stationery

Filed under: Wedding Stationery — Dave @ 9:00 am

When you are planning a wedding, the first things that come to mind are the wedding dress and the venue. But there are other aspects which need to be organised fairly early on in the process too.

Some people don’t realise that the wedding stationery is something which needs to be considered early on in the preparation time. But if you time the wedding stationery wrong, you could be in for a disaster.

It is a good idea to order your stationery at least six months before your wedding date. This is because you will then have enough time to send out wedding invitations and to give your guests plenty of notice. If you are planning to send save the date cards, you will need to be even earlier with your ordering.

Save the date cards tell your guests the date of your wedding and allow them to put it into their diaries, but they don’t contain all the details of the day and they don’t require your guests to respond.

After this, and once you know all of the details of your big day, you will need to send out your day and evening invitations. These need to go out at least four months prior to your wedding day.
