Organising a wedding table plan

Filed under: Wedding Table Plan — Jenny @ 9:00 am

With so many friends and family members to organise, it can feel like the table plan is never going to be 100 per cent correct.

But with careful planning (and a lot of patience) it won’t be long before you’ve got everyone exactly where they should be.

The seating arrangement is extremely important for your wedding reception. It can make a real difference.
For example, if you sit your shy and retiring aunt down next to your loud and confident friend, it may not create the best atmosphere. You need to ensure that you get the best mix of people on every table.

The first thing to remember, when tackling your wedding table plan, is to make use of all of the space you are given. Hopefully, by the time you come to do your table plan, you will have received all of your wedding RSVP cards back so you will know exactly who is coming.

Use these cards to determine how many people are attending and therefore how many tables you need.
When making the seating arrangements, begin with the wedding party, followed by your immediate family. Then think about your grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Then it’s time to think about your close friends.

After these people have been seated, the rest of your guests should fit into place easily. But remember; keep that aunt away from your friend!

Don’t forget those finishing touches; they could make all the difference

Filed under: Wedding Help & Advice — Diane @ 9:00 am

Lists are the key when it comes to planning a wedding.

There is so much to think about, so much to do, so much to organise and so much to arrange so lists are the only way you can possibly ensure that everything is done on time.

Of course, there are the obvious things like the dress, the venue and the cake to arrange. But it is often the smaller touches that get left to the last minute or forgotten about.

Disposable wedding cameras are one example. These can really make a difference to the wedding reception. If each table of guests is given a couple of disposable cameras to pass around, the results can be brilliant. Once you have got the photos developed you will be able to see just what everyone got up to in the moments you weren’t with them.

Wedding guest books are also often forgotten about. This can become a great souvenir of your special day. These books allow guests to express their thoughts and feelings about the wedding, the couple and the future they will share together.

It is the finishing touches like these can make a wedding day truly special. So before you start phoning people and making plans, sit down and make a list. That way, you will ensure that the smaller touches are remembered and that you will have a truly special day.

Wedding evening invitations

Filed under: Wedding Evening Invitations — Jenny @ 9:00 am

Inviting the guests to your wedding should be an exciting task. However, it can become a little stressful, particularly where family politics are involved.

Ultimately, the decision on who is going to be at the ceremony lies with the bride and groom. But sometimes, other family members can become involved and it is always preferable to keep everyone happy and to avoid any upset.

There may be an aunt who you have only met once, who you do not feel comfortable inviting to your intimate ceremony. Of course, you want to avoid causing any upset or offending her by not inviting her. So it is a good idea to send out evening invitations too.

Wedding evening invitations are ideal for those people who you would like to celebrate your marriage with, but who you feel you do not know well enough to invite to the main event.

This way, you can involve all of the important people in your big day and you can ensure that the whole experience is enjoyable.

So long as it is planned out carefully, the task of sending out your wedding invitations should be really exciting. Make sure you make a proper list of who you want at the ceremony and who would like to just attend the evening celebration.
