Double Trouble For SJP!

Filed under: Baby Help & Advice — admin @ 11:56 pm

‘Sex and the City’ star Sarah Jessica Parker and her actor husband Matthew Broderick have been unable to conceive since the birth of their son, James Wilkie Broderick, who was born six years ago. But today they delivered the wonderful news that they have welcomed twin daughters into the world, via a surrogate mother.

Sarah and Matthew have named the newborns Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick. The couple said that their unusual choice of Elwell and Hodge are both family names on the Parker side.

Reports state that the girls were delivered a few weeks premature, but are healthy and doing great, with Marion weighing almost 6lbs and Tabitha just over 6lbs.

Sarah Jessica Parker, 44, is most famous for her major role as Carrie Bradshaw in popular american series, ‘Sex and the City.’  Her husband Matthew has earlier told press that 26 year old Michelle Ross, who became subject of a media frenzy, was carrying the baby girls.

The couple and their son James are said to be over the moon at the families latest additions.
Co star of Sarah Jessica Parkers, Kim Cattral, has also expressed her congratulations to the family.
In a statement she said “I’m thrilled for Sarah, Matthew and James Wilkie. More fabulous girls are joining our SATC (Sex and the City) family.”

The Card Gallery offers a wide range of baby photo albums, many of which can be personalised for that extra special gift!

Menu Suggestions for your Baby Celebrations – Bowl Food

Filed under: Baby Help & Advice — admin @ 1:43 am

It can often be difficult to decide what food to serve for your Christening or Naming Ceremony celebrations. Many people struggle over deciding what to serve and how much of it, all to a certain budget.

A new and exciting trend in the buffet world is ‘Bowl Food.’ Showing simulararities to the fork buffet, the meal is intended to be eaten standing up, minus a knife. The difference is that serving food in a bowl means that the guests can consume a more filling meal, usually associated with sit down meals.

When hosting a winter Christening reception it is the perfect idea as guests can enjoy a warm and satisfying meal.  Bowl food is often prepared in advance and simply heated on the day, restrict your meals to one meat and one veg for maximum ease.

As you are limiting your guests to two options it is suprisingly economical as the food is made in large quantities, adjusting to your guests’ appetites appropriately. A main course and a pudding can often be served for under £5.00 a head.

If you decide to use caterers they are most likely to give guests their food pre-served in bowls. However if you are serving the food yourself it is a good idea to leave the food in a large serving dish and guests can go up and help themselves as they please.

Popular choices of menus include Thai Currys with Rice and Lemon Mousses to follow, Rissottos with Crusty Bread and Vanilla Creme Brulees for pudding.

Tip: Do ensure that if you are using disposable bowls they are large and strong enough to accomodate guests food. Also, do consider a childs menu for little ones as their pallet is not as mature as mothers and fathers.

The Card Gallery offers a range of Christening, Naming Ceremony, Blessing and Baptism invitations to invite guests to your special occasion.

Double the fun for Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves

Filed under: Baby Help & Advice — admin @ 11:34 am

On his first Father’s Day, Sunday 21st June, Matthew McConaughey announced that next year, he will be having a double-celebration, as baby number 2 will have arrived!

Matthew celebrated Father’s Day for the first time with 11month old Levi.  The couple were thrilled to announce they’re expecting again, the baby’s due date is yet to be announced.

Their first son Levi Alves McConaughey, was born last July.  Matthew announced after his birth that he was planning to bury Levi’s placenta in the orchard so as to help fertislise the land. This tradition is one followed by several cultures.  The Maori people of New Zealand for example, bury the placenta as part of a tradition to demonstrate the relationship beween humans and the earth.  In Costa Rica, it is believed that burying the placenta will give mother and baby good health.  In Hawaii, the placenta is traditionally buried with a tree, which then grows with the child.

The Card Gallery offers a range of baby announcment cards and baby photo albums, all of which can be personalised to your special occasion.
