Wedding Invitations – Some Pointers

Filed under: Wedding Invitations, Wedding Invitations Articles — Alan @ 1:20 pm

A huge amount of the questions that we get asked are about wedding invitations.  Who should be invited?  Day or evening invites?  Should we invite children?  These are just a few of the things to navigate when it comes to writing out your wedding invitations.

We always tell prospective couples to think logically and bear in mind their budget at all times.  Day guests will be the most expensive to cater for as they will need to be entertained and fed twice.  If your budget is feeling a little stretched, it may be wise to invite a smaller number to your wedding breakfast and then a larger number to the evening reception.

If you are planning on inviting work colleagues, don’t feel the pressure to invite their partners too.  It is highly likely that you might not have even met them before and, if you’re inviting a number of colleagues, they’ll all know each other anyway.

Including children on your wedding invitations is a bit trickier.  No matter how small they are, they will increase your food costs considerably, and you need to factor in other things such as keeping them entertained.

The Card Gallery offer a whole range of wedding invitations to help keep your budget affordable so take a look online at their range today.

Avoid Last Minute Panics!

Filed under: Wedding Invitations, Wedding Invitations Articles — Jane @ 12:43 pm

Choosing all of your wedding stationery is something that should be planned and not left until the last minute.  Your wedding stationery is your way of letting your guests know exactly how your day will run – from the theme and style of the day, right through to the details of timings and the venue.  That said, it’s not the easiest thing to decide on what stationery to have.

You should try to imagine your wedding day when you are thinking about choosing your wedding stationery.  Think of the colours that you would like, the type of flowers and style of the venue.  This will give you an overview of the atmosphere of the day.  Your wedding stationery – including wedding invitations, RSVP cards, orders of service, etc – should complement and match with the colours and the style of your wedding day.

Always remember to order more wedding invitations than you actually need.  This is handy in case you have forgotten someone, you meet someone new that you would like to invite to your wedding, or you make any mistakes when you are writing out your invites.

Wedding Trends Update

Filed under: Wedding Invitations, Wedding Invitations Articles — Alan @ 12:19 pm

Celebrities are renowned for creating a wealth of fashion inspiration with every picture of them that’s published.  Now it appears that they are giving us endless ideas for our weddings too!  Here are a few of our favourites from this year so far…

Simple and elegant – this goes for both the dress and the stationery!
Choosing a simple basic design allows you to go all out with the detailing.  Lace elements, a little bit of shimmer, and beading, all lend themselves particularly well to this style.  Whether you are choosing your dress or your  wedding invitations, select a design that screams ‘you’!

Texture
There is a real trend at the moment towards texture in your wedding stationery.  Think about incorporating textured paper into your wedding invitations, or even mixing it up with some fabric embellishments.

Bows
They are everywhere!  Bows are a popular feature on wedding dresses for 2012, so why not follow through with your stationery too!

Lace
Ever since we saw Kate Middleton step out of that car, ready to walk up the aisle to her Prince, we have fallen in love with lace all over again.  Have a look at lace-inspired wedding invitations and other matching stationery for your wedding day.

A little bit of bling…
Hugely popular for winter and Christmas weddings, blinged-up ‘black-tie’ inspired wedding invitations are going to be big this year.

Choosing your wedding invitations couldn’t be simpler at The Card Gallery.  Browse through their huge selection of stationery, all geared towards making your special day just perfect.
