We’ve received lots of useful tips over the years that brides and grooms have sent to us following their wedding and wedding day experiences. We thought you might find them useful, here’s just a few….
- Take few minutes out at various times during your wedding day – time will fly by and it’s important to try to soak in the atmosphere and feelings you’re experiencing.
- Keep a diary of your wedding plans, record your feelings, highs, lows, stresses and excitement.
- Arrange for someone to purchase a newspaper so you can see what other news happened on your special day. Make a record of the number one single for that week…you could even make a time capsule recording details of other snippets you might want to look back on, top album, top selling book, priminister on this day, price of a pint of milk, litre of petrol…the list is as long as you wish it to be!
- Ask your reception venue to save any keepsakes – the cork from your first bottle of champagne, your placename cards, pieces of confetti that have been thrown etc.
Wedding guest books, wedding invitations and disposable wedding cameras are just a few of the wedding accessories available from The Card Gallery.
Given the current economic climate, many couples’ wedding budget is stretched tighter than ever, leaving little left for a honeymoon.
Honeymooning at home is one of the latest trends. Tell everyone you’re going away so they won’t bother you, stock up on your favourite foods, takeaway menus, DVD’s and your favourite tipple. Getting married is all about the two of you, enjoy the time of no interuptions and take a little time out.
The Card Gallery offers a range of wedding invitations, disposable cameras and wedding guest books.
Who should we invite, should we ask them to the day or evening reception, should we invite children….it’s likely these will be some of your questions when compiling your wedding list.
Your day guests are the most expensive to cater for, so if your budget is a little stretched you may prefer to invite a smaller number to your wedding breakfast and a larger number to the evening reception.
If you’re inviting work colleagues don’t feel oblidged to invite their partners if you don’t know them – if you invite a few colleagues they’ll know each other and if invited to your wedding breakfast you can seat them together.
Whether or not to invite children can be a difficult dilemma - they can increase your food costs and you may need to book a child’s entertainer – not inviting children would keep your costs down and give their parents a ‘day off’. Not allowing children, or only inviting family children is generally accepted by guests.
The Card Gallery offers a range of wedding stationery to help keep your budget affordable – including wedding invitations, guest books and disposable cameras.
