Advice for writing wedding invitations

Filed under: Wedding Invitations Articles — Diane @ 4:33 pm

Writing wedding invitations can be quite daunting. Even though you probably think that’s the least of your worries in the lead up to your big day, it actually plays a significant part. The invitation is something all of your potential guests are going to read, and as such you want it to come across in just the right light.

The wording within the invitation should be formal, but don’t afraid to include a personal message from you and your partner. Remember, if you are planning on inviting all your friends and family, you are likely to have a very long list of names to get through, so writing a unique message to each individual is probably going to be too time consuming. Instead, try to think of a message that is personal and can be applied generally to everyone you are sending invites to.

Sometimes people only invite a certain number of people to the reception as opposed to the ceremony itself, in this case it might be better to create two different invitations, one for both and one for the reception.

Just remember, this is your big day and no matter what just have a great time.
