Hi,
my name is Laura and I have a wedding to plan!
I was never the type of girl to plan my wedding since I was little and I have never picked up a wedding magazine in my life ,so I really am starting from scratch here. Also, my fiancée and I have a two year old little boy named Joe so we’ve kind of done things a bit backwards, and getting married has been the last thing on my mind for the past few years!
So,
I have a wedding to organise – we haven’t set the date yet so I suppose that
doesn’t put any extra pressure on me, but everyone’s telling me that’s the
first thing we have to do. Others are
saying to make sure I have the venue sorted as it will all depend on the dates
available, and someone told me the other day that there can be a two-year wait
for a cake! Seriously, how’s that even
possible? Am I really that naive about
planning a wedding???
I’m hoping this blog will help me to get organised and maybe even get some ideas from fellow brides-to-be about what I need to be doing and when. I’m convinced I’ll get to the day itself and realise that I’m missing something important - like my bridal shoes - and I’ll have to make-do with my highest wedge sandals! I guess the first thing that I need to do is write a checklist so I can capture everything important that needs to be done, and then try to work my way through it. Also, I’m a bit OCD like that so think that a list is going to help a lot!
My
aim is to get through to the wedding day as calm as possible and still have a
groom waiting for me at the altar – assuming I haven’t turned into a Bridezilla
by then and he’s decided to bail out while the goings good! I hope you’ll enjoy my blog as I journey
towards my big day, and please do feel to point out when I get slightly off
track! Rather than screaming at the monitor "you've forgotten the buttonholes/bridesmaids shoes/something blue!", you can email me at: laura@thecardgallery.co.uk - I'll be checking the mailbox each week and hopefully I'll pick up some tips and advice along the way.
