March 26th - First Dance

Dear Readers,

So much for my Spring clean…the weather was so nice that I spent most of it in the garden with Joe instead, or talking little walks to the park at the top of our road, eating ice cream on the way.  Must stop that or I’ll never fit into the dress that took so long to find!  The house remains cluttered, the garden still needs sorting…are any of you doing any better than me???

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks thinking about the evening entertainment for our wedding reception and Darren was very enthusiastic about the idea of a live band.  I think he had images in his head of sitting there Simon-Cowell-Style auditioning funky young things for the right sound for our big day.  After three phone calls he realised that most bands aren’t expecting auditions and simply direct you to a YouTube video or their website for a taster of what they have to offer.  No Simon Cowell stint = Darren losing interest!  We did look at a couple of bands online but decided in the end to go with a recommended DJ who performs regularly at the venue we are holding our reception on.  Logic ruled in the end – he knows the place, came highly recommended and the price was right.  So, DJ booked!  He didn’t have our ‘1st dance song’ but it is a little obscure so we need to get that to him to add to the playlist.  Which reminds me, I love to know what songs people choose for their first dance, so make sure you add your special song to The Card Gallery’s Facebook page where everybody is telling them what their song is.

Next up, all things bridesmaid-y!

See you in a couple of weeks!

Laura
